The Michelin Guide's review
The only, albeit sizeable, remains of Genoese civil architecture in Corte, the former residence of the representative of the Genoese government became the seat of government set up by Pascal Paoli. These walls also housed the first university in Corsica in 1765, with 300 students, but which did not survive Paoli's exile. Nowadays, the National Palace houses the offices of the university's administration.
