The Michelin Guide's review
This formidable fjord is halted to the south by the Búlandsnes Peninsula, at the end of which is Djúpivogur ("Deep Creek"), the gateway to the East Fjords. From there, the Ring Road (Route 1) skirts the narrow and deep fjord guarded by Mt Búlandstindur (1 069m). While the west coast is indented with little creeks and black pebble beaches, the east coast is smoother, up to a lighthouse that presides over basalt formations.
