Dolen, in the western part of the Rhodopes, occupies a dominant position at an altitude of some 1,000m. Its main appeal lies in its National Revival houses (18-19C), renowned for their sculpted ceilings, earning the village its status as historic and architectural reserve. An authentic village set in peaceful countryside.
