Useful information

Description

The ruins of the abbey stand on the southern bank of the Eske estuary opposite Donegal Bay. It was founded in 1474 and richly endowed by the family, but its strategic site interested the English who turned it into an ammunition's dump. Despite a massive explosion in 1601, the edifice remains steeped in charm, with the overgrown cemetery and the bay in the background.
