Description

The Japanese palace is a vast quadrilateral palace built between 1715 to 1737 by Pöppelmann to house the Meissen tableware collection of Augustus the Strong. It is now used to host temporary exhibitions themed around the natural sciences as well as a collection of ethnographical exhibits. Note the oriental-style roofs on the corner pavilions.
