Description

The imposing Anglican cathedral of the diocese of Dublin is the seat of the Anglican archbishop of Dublin. The first edifice was built in 1172, on the site of a wooden church (1038) that had disappeared. The current building with its combination of English Gothic and neo-Romanesque styles principally dates from 1871-78, although the north wall of the nave belonged to the original cathedral.
