Useful information

Description

A touching reminder of the days of the Great Famine, this is an exact replica of the tall ship, which was initially built in Quebec in 1847. Owned by a family of timber merchants, it transported timber across the Atlantic from Canada and brought back emigrants from Ireland. Over a period of seven years, it transported more than 2 500 people - and not a single passenger died during a crossing. Wax models are used to depict the life of the passengers, who were confined inside for the two-month voyage.
