Useful information

Description

Joshua Dawson, a builder, lived in this house which he had built in 1705 and which the town bought in 1715 to serve as the Lord Mayor's residence. The round living room was added on the occasion of the visit of George IV in 1821 and it was here that the first Irish parliament met in 1919 to adopt the Declaration of Independence.
