Useful information

Description

Trinity College, sometimes referred to by the initials TCD, was founded in 1592 by Elizabeth I, and was exclusively for Anglicans until the end of the 19C. Women were admitted in 1903. Among its famous students are the writers Swift, Wilde, Stocker and Beckett. It stands in its own grounds, College Park, an open space used for sports (cricket, rugby, running and hurling). At its southern end is the Old Library.
