Useful information

Description

Burns' Statue, at the far northern end of High Street, dating back to 1882, commemorates Dumfries' most famous citizen. A plaque on the wall of the buildings to the west of the statue marks the site of the Franciscan monastery where Robert the Bruce and his followers killed Comyn the Red in 1306.
