Canongate was a small town in its own right, independent of Edinburgh, and was restored in the 20C. In this beautiful 16C building, you can visit the Popular History Museum, which offers a perspective on everyday life in Scotland, from the 18C to the present day, through attractive presentations of documents, photos and written and recorded testimonies.
