Hallasan National Park is home to the country's highest peak (1,950m/6,398ft), Hallasan volcano, a designated UNESCO site. It's easy enough to hike to the crater at the summit (enquire about routes before setting off), through a landscape sculpted by past eruptions and which changes dramatically with each season.
