Temple of Khnum
The Green Guide

Useful information

Description

Dedicated to the god of creation, who was usually depicted with a ram's head, this small temple is located 10m below the surrounding houses. Cartouches of Roman emperors on the façade and the text of Decius are evidence that the temple dates from Greco-Roman times. The plethora of columns crowned with remarkable floral capitals (traces of polychromy) is particularly impressive.
