This early 16C church is crowned with castellations and conical spires, some of which are wreathed. Note the Manueline style portal, which is surmounted by a pelican, the symbol of Don João II, and King Manuel's armillary sphere . The interior, with ogival vaulting, is astonishingly large. The chancel has two tribunes: a Renaissance tribune on the right, and a Baroque one on the left. Do not miss the surprising chapel of bones.
