The museum illustrates aspects of country life (agriculture, watermills, ploughs and the forge). Aspects of the life of the fishing community are attractively presented: their houses, costumes, boats, equipment and fishing tackle. The highly symbolic Eyemouth tapestry is a reminder of the major fishing disaster in 1881.
