The Michelin Guide's review
Hook Head Peninsula in the far southeast of the country lies between the Bay of Waterford and St George's Channel. A handsome region portrayed by sandy beaches and sheer cliffs, it offers countless hiking, walking, horse-riding and bicycling opportunities. You might also want to pay a visit to the lovely Cistercian abbey of Tintern, unless you wouldn't rather gaze down at the sea battering the rocks from the 25m/82ft-high Hook Lighthouse.
