The Michelin Guide's review
A UNESCO world heritage site, it is one of the oldest, largest and best-preserved buffalo jumps of North America. For thousands of years, bison were driven to their deaths over this cliff. They provided most of the necessities of life for the Plains First Nations tribes: meat, hides for clothing and shelter, and bone for tools. A visitor centre shows films and exhibitions about the First Nations populations, whose survival depended on this hunting method.
