A footbridge and bridge provide access to Froson Island, which was once the setting for ritual sacrifices. You can still see many burial mounds as well as a rune stone, known as Frösöstenen. But the main highlights of the island are three buildings: the summer house of the famous composer Wilhelm Peterson-Berger (1867-1942); the picturesque 12C Frösö church (12C), with its idyllic setting; and Frösö tower (468m), which affords a splendid view over the surrounding countryside, forests and lakes.
