This Neoclassical edifice is now framed by the glazed Seu de la Generalitat de Catalunya structure, inaugurated in 2010. It houses, among others, an extensive Catalan library, a Baroque hospital pharmacy and an auditorium. The latter, located in a converted chapel, is the site of the monumental work by Ramon Martí Alsina (1826-1894), the Great Day of Girona, which chronicles an episode of the siege of the town in 1809.
