Useful information

Description

A renowned doctor, anatomist and pioneering obstetrician, William Hunter (1718-83) was also a great collector. In addition to a splendid collection of coins and medals, the museum is steeped in the charm of a cabinet of curiosities, with sections dedicated to archaeological digs undertaken along the Antonine Wall, minerals, dinosaurs and British prehistory.
