Useful information

Description

The abbey was founded in the late 12C by Roland, lord of Galloway, in the magnificent Luce Valley, ideal for a Cistercian establishment. Among the ruins stands an exceptional capitulary room (15C). The water supply system is still in view; see the terracotta pipes and the exhibition in the conservator's office.
