Useful information

Description

An enormous and somewhat austere building was opened in 2004 in order to reorganise all of the collections dedicated to the culture of the Baekje dynasty after the discovery of the tomb of King Muryeong (461-523). Today, over 20 000 artefacts, including 19 National Treasures, are showcased at Gongju National Museum. Note the gilded bronze Avalokitesvara and seated stone buddha, made during the period of the Grand Silla (668-935).
