Useful information

Description

Although its construction began in 1518 in the centre of the old Muslim Medina, the work lasted almost two centuries. The cathedral was used as a model for Renaissance churches in Spain and Latin America. Inside, note the rich decorated capilla mayor, in the shape of a rotunda, and a modern silver tabernacle in the centre of the presbytery. The north door of the Royal Chapel and the cathedral museum are also worth seeing.
