The exhibition presents regional and national artists of the 20C, in particular GAN, Olle Bærtling and members of the Halmstad Group. The musem's main draw is its collection of peasant wall hangings (bonader). These popular, Naïve-style paintings are typical of the region and often depict Biblical subjects but the costumes and backdrops are generally taken from the 18C and 19C. These material or paper hangings decorated walls and ceilings of peasant houses during festivals.
