Description

Built around Uda Walawe reservoir, this park has become the kingdom of elephants and visitors can see dozens of these huge mammals in all seasons. Old solitary males, herds and even orphans taken in by the neighbouring Elephant Transit Home are visible all year long. They share the park with buffalo, iguana, crocodiles and exotic birds. The wildlife is most active in the early morning or late afternoon.
