Description

A majestic driveway leads to this imposing 12C castle, cradle of the Harcourt family, turned into a dwelling in the 17C. A path runs alongside dry moats enclosing the surrounding wall, which is flanked by towers in ruins, commanding fine views of the fortified complex. The farmyard is separated from the keep by an inner moat, and the classical lines of the façade contrast with the medieval remains. An exhibition inside charts the history of the estate. Don't miss the adjoining arboretum.
