Description

In a former convent, the 17C Couvent des Augustins, a reconstitution of a traditional Flemish kitchen and a look back at the town's past. Flemish and Dutch paintings in the cloister (Rubens, Van Dyck) and 19C and 20C French paintings (Theodore Rousseau and Bouguereau). However, the stars of the show are the town's giants: the valiant knight Roland, who joined the Count of Flanders, Tisje-Tasje, a 19C peddlar, his wife Toria, his daughter Babe-Tisje, and his son Zoone-Tisje.
