Description

The actual height of this mountain, which rises from below the sea level of the Pacific, is in fact over 10 000m! Mauna Kea is said to be the best place on earth to study the planets thanks to its clear skiers and lack of pollution. It is not surprising, therefore, that a dozen or so countries have decided to install infrared telescopes here to enable them to view the wonders of space.
