Description

The Japanese Fujita Kenichi teien garden was created in 1919 by Fujita Oken'ichi (1873-1946), one of Japan's most famous businessmen. The 22,000m2/72,000ft² garden is home to a traditional Japanese house with a floor made from yakusugi, ancient pines from the island of Yakushima, an archaeological hall (with exhibits dating back to the pre-Jomon era), a pavilion used for the tea ceremony, and an austere Taisho-era (1912-1926) residence with a magnificent veranda.
