Description

This quay is fronted by a fine array of restored houses. For the most part these are old merchants' houses, some with typical Hoorn-style façades featuring carved wooden pillars. Others, adorned with fine stone façades, are crowned with stepped or bell-shaped gables. The house of the navigator Willem Bontekoe (1587-1657) can be admired at n° 15.
