Useful information

Description

This lovely long sea loch stretches from the Argyll mountains, past the arm of Loch Gilp, heading southwards to reach the ocean, north of the Isle of Arran. In the 19C, this immense stretch of water was the scene of a thriving herring fishery, with between five and six hundred fishing boats established on its shores. Today it is famous for its leisure angling and also as a diving spot, where it is possible to observe otters, dolphins, seals and even basking sharks!
