Description

For the best views of the Corinth Canal, head up to one of the two one-way bridges that span it: the Isthmia bridge (in the southeast, on the Athens-Peloponnese road) or the Posidonia bridge (in the northwest, bordering the Gulf of Corinth). When a boat approaches, the bridge's wooden deck sinks into the water to let it pass. A slow and silent spectacle that passing motorists watch stoically.
