Formerly a synagogue, this building has had an eventful past. Built in the town centre, like the town's other religious buildings, it was damaged during the earthquake of 1911. Rebuilt, it was desecrated during the Second World War and left abandoned. A few years later, it was converted into a conference centre. Today visitors can admire plaster copies of 15 sculptures by Michelangelo in the museum.
