Description
Built in 1134, St Mary and St David's church has preserved a wealth of Norman-style sculptures and ornaments. Of the 70 gargoyles sculpted on the cornice, only two have a direct link with religion. The gargoyles on the western wall are of pure Viking inspiration, and seem to come from the prows of longships.
