Description

The bronze figure of the "Master" (Majstora), Vladimir Dimitrov, stands in front of the monumental façade of this modern museum. The artist's (1882-1960) became famous for his very personal style while dealing with the general trend of idealisation of rural life. His portraits of peasant women against backgrounds drawn from Bulgaria's popular arts have become emblems of the country's heritage... You will also discover his landscapes painted in a post-impressionist style, his portraits of young girls and of the Master himself.
