Useful information

Description

This museum devoted to Kortrijk's history, from prehistoric times to the early 20C, is housed in former Groeninge Abbey. The brick buildings date from 1597 and were in turn occupied by the Cistercians, then the Pauvres Claires (as of 1845). The ground floor served as a common room and upstairs was a dormitory. The museum has a fine collection of silverware and damask cloth, and also charts the Battle of the Golden Spurs.
