Description

This ancient crater lake, one of the largest in Japan at an altitude of 401m/1,315ft, is in Towada-Hachimantai National Park. It is best explored by boat from Nenokuchi to Yasumiya. The boat cruises past the Nakayama and Ogura peninsulas that divide the southern portion of the lake.
