The mountain city of Kotel is devoted to carpet-making. Among its buildings of interest is the National Revival Museum where, among other exhibits, you can see the tomb and the sword of the champion of the national cause, Rakovski (1821-67) in the crypt. Make your way to the top of the town. The Galata district is comprised of a fine group of wooden houses dating from the National Revival period.
