Description

Lampedusa's prettiest beach nestles within the vast bay of Isola dei Conigli, Rabbit Island Bay, which is crowned with white cliffs. The place is reminiscent of the Caribbean with its dazzling white sand sloping gently down to a transparent sea, which glimmers turquoise and emerald. Each year, loggerhead turtles come here to lay their eggs (as long as they are not disturbed by tourists). The eastern bay is also the only place in Italy where the Psammodromus algirus lives: this species of striped lizard is typically found in North-West Africa.
