A frontier post during the Indian Wars, Fort Sill contains more than 50 original stone buildings from the 1870s, erected by the Buffalo Soldiers of the 10th Cavalry. Among them are the guardhouse where Geronimo was prisoner, the commanding general's house, a commissary, a chapel and post headquarters, now the Fort Sill Museum.
