Description

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this marvellous Romanesque cathedral owes its originality to the influence of Byzantium and the East. It is an exceptional place, appearing to defy the laws of gravity by balancing on this steep site, and for its colourful lava façades, the Porche du For and Porche St Jean, its Romanesque frescoes (Holy Women at the Tomb, The Martyrdom of St Catherine of Alexandria), the mysterious Pierre des Fièvres and the treasure.
