Useful information

Description

This museum on the edge of the historic centre houses a fascinating prehistoric section, as well as an important collection of Daunian, Greek and Messapian ceramics - the vestiges of a civilisation which occupied the Salento region from 1000 BC onwards. The trozzella (vase) representing Hercules in the garden of the Hesperides is famous thanks to the fact that it is the only vase of its kind to be decorated with a human figure.
