Useful information

Description

Built by William the Conqueror in 1068, Lincoln Castle has reopened to the public after undergoing major restoration works. A symbol of royal power, seat of justice, today it recounts 1 000 years of history in situ. That said, nothing remains of the Norman keep, nor the wooden stockade built by William the Conqueror. However, visitors can now walk along the curtain wall that runs over 1.6km.
