Useful information

Description

The pavilions of the 1988 World Exhibition in Lisbon; representative of contemporary architecture, are now being put to other uses. The Estaçéao do Oriente was designed by the Spanish architect, Santiago Calatrava. It is a glass and steel, tree-like structure, both strong and delicate with tremendous luminosity: the building now houses a mainline and suburban railway station, an underground station and a suburban and regional bus station.
