In the north of Tana Toraja, west of Batutumonga, the road has a series of rock tombs on the right, and looks out over lovely landscapes to the left. Suddenly, like a head studded with eyes (mata means "eye"), an enormous rock full of myriad tombs looms up (loko refers to these cavities). Some have wooden doors carved with Toraja motifs. Photos and offerings bear witness to its practice of ancestor worship.
