Description

The Carthusian monastery of London was set up outside the city walls having been founded in 1371. After the dissolution of the monasteries under Henry VIII, the monastery passed from hand to hand before becoming a charitable institution and then a rest home (Sutton's Hospital).Past the porch (15C), you will enter the Great Hall (16 C) then you can visit the Great Room. The chapel is in the old 14C capitulary room.
