The Green Guide

Description

Reconstructed (1683-1687 by Wren, this church which is modest in design with its balustraded square tower has a cream- wall interior and no straight angles. The interior is endowed with beautiful wooden furnishings, such as the finely sculpted door (17C), a beautiful canopy sculpted with flowery garlands and performing cherubs. The Baroque organ was used by Henry Purcell. The scabbard near the main altar and the baptismal font are modern.
