The Green Guide

Description

Official residence of the Lord Mayors who are only in office for one year. Mansion House was built between 1739 and 1752 by the city architect George Dance the Elder, who took Palladio's Venetian villas as his inspiration. The house boasts richly furnished and decorated reception rooms, including the Salon, the Long Parlour and the Egyptian Hall. The silverware and the insignia of the Lord mayor are quite remarkable.
