London Zoo
The Green Guide
Regent's Park, London NW1 4RY
Founded in 1828, the zoo's mission is to successfully breed endangered species and undertake biological research on rare breeds. It splits into two zones, separated by the Outer Circle and linked by a tunnel. The zoo is home to a whole host of species ranging from insects to lions, taking in everything from tortoises to monkeys along the way, housed in a dozen historic buildings and structures which recreate the animals' natural habitats.
