Description

This museum traces the life and work of Florence Nightingale (1820-1910), nicknamed the "Lady of the Lamp" by the British soldiers that she cared for during the Crimean War (1854-1856). The museum also exhibits a collection of her personal items, provides information on the Crimean War, and also explains the system of workhouses which were set up during the Victorian era to house the poor and destitute.
